Welcome To Makiti Wedding & Function Venue

Nestled in the secluded Kromdraai valley, built on a 50 hectare estate, lies our beautiful and exclusive venue in one of South Africa’s well known world heritage sites. The river meanders under big old trees and majestic cliffs form the backdrop of the beautifully landscaped gardens. Makiti’s first venue was built in 1996. One of our most appreciated promises has always been the exclusivity our clients have to their venue. Each venue consists of its own romantic bridal suite, unique chapel, spacious function room, beautifully landscaped and well maintained gardens, and private parking area. Our charming chapels can seat up to 220 guests and our venues can seat up to 450 guests, we can also incorporate the verandah area for bigger functions. We also cater for small and intimate functions as well as bigger functions. Our Bridal suites are available for our brides to get dressed and the couple is welcome to sleep the night, breakfast included. We have overnight facilities on the estate where your guests can stay over on the night of the wedding or function. During the photo session the guests are invited to have a pre-arranged welcome drink in the beautiful garden.



At Makiti we understand how precious your wedding day is. How, everything from the setting to the service and the food, needs to be faultless and how each wedding or function needs to be approached as being entirely unique. Our main aim is to be involved with as much as possible, in order to relieve you from the stress normally related with organizing your big day. We use all our experience to your advantage.

Our venues are equipped with their own PA systems. We have our own experienced DJ’s with whom our clients discuss their music requirements. Our Wedding planner will assist you in the planning of your wedding day and will discuss every little detail of your special day with you. Our experienced Coordinators will make sure that everything on your wedding day is taken care of and will make sure that your wedding day will be perfect. We have an in-house florist, with whom you may discuss all your flower requirements. You may use your own florist as well.

One of the things that we do get a lot of compliments on is our food. This is one of the first things that your guests will talk about and remember. The contents of our menus and the style of presenting can be designed around different likes, traditions and nationalities. We have very high standards and use only the best quality products. We have a big variety of menus to choose from. Our starters are plated and served to the guest tables, and the main course is served in our inter-linked buffet area, or should the couple prefer, we can serve a plated menu.

We also do conferences, Matric farewells, small and intimate weddings and functions, celebrations, birthday parties, breakfast weddings, and many more.

Our wedding took place on the 08th April 2012 at Ballroom, we would like to thank you all. Mention names but few, Annemarie you have done a great job during the ceremony you have coordinated very well. It was wonderful to see that you have made everybody s job easier that night. We also thank Naomi, Christel, Amie and the DJ done us very proud, Well done Martin. Security guard at the gate is awesome. All our guest are telling us since then how beautiful our wedding was including good food and service from the bar.

Makiti made our day very special, We thank you guys, we are now at honeymoon ( Knysna Lagoon) Southern Cape.

Dis vandag presies ‘n maand na ons groot dag daar by julle. Ek heg ‘n paar foto’s aan vir julle, maar die rede hoekom ek eintlik die e-pos stuur is om baie dankie te se.

Ons dag was een groot sukses gewees, als was perfek gewees en die saal het stunning gelyk, presies soos ons dit wou gehad het. Daarmee saam wil ons baie dankie vir Candice se wat die middag en aand vlot laat verloop, ons het nie een keer deur die aand onsself oor enige iets bekommer nie (Dink sy het die meesste gestres toe sy nie die bruid kon vind vooraf nie =) .

Baie dankie aan jul en veral, Annemarie se behulpsaamheid reg van dag een af wat ons na die venue kom kyk het, jul vriendelikheid het ons baie beindruk. Baie dankie dat ons ons spesiale GROOT bottel wyn kon inbring sonder enige kurkfooi. Baie dankie aan die DJ Winston (dink dit was sy naam,kon nie mooi onthou nie) vir die lekker vibe wat hy met die musiek geskep het. Ons wil ook dankie se aan Amie wat vooraf gehelp het met die menu en al die ander honderde fyn detail, ons het haar hulp en raad baie waardeer. En dan ook ‘n dankie aan almal wat betrokke was, van die tafels dek, tot die waiters en barmen en almal wat agter die skerms werk. Ons aand was ‘n groot sukses en dis almal van julle wat bygedra het.

Laastens wil ek dankie se dat julle nie daarop uit is om die mense uit te buit met die finansiele kant nie, ons leef tans in ‘n wereld waar dit alles gaan oor geldmaak en nie diens kry vir die geld wat betaal is nie, maar by julle het ons verseker meer as waarde vir ons geld gekry!!! Hou so aan!

Ons groot dag was baie spesiaal en ons het elke oomblik daarvan saam met ons familie en vriende geniet, ons gaste kan tot vandag nie uitgepraat raak oor die kos nie!!
