Welcome To Makiti Wedding & Function Venue
Nestled in the secluded Kromdraai valley, built on a 50 hectare estate, lies our beautiful and exclusive venue in one of South Africa’s well known world heritage sites. The river meanders under big old trees and majestic cliffs form the backdrop of the beautifully landscaped gardens. Makiti’s first venue was built in 1996. One of our most appreciated promises has always been the exclusivity our clients have to their venue. Each venue consists of its own romantic bridal suite, unique chapel, spacious function room, beautifully landscaped and well maintained gardens, and private parking area. Our charming chapels can seat up to 220 guests and our venues can seat up to 450 guests, we can also incorporate the verandah area for bigger functions. We also cater for small and intimate functions as well as bigger functions. Our Bridal suites are available for our brides to get dressed and the couple is welcome to sleep the night, breakfast included. We have overnight facilities on the estate where your guests can stay over on the night of the wedding or function. During the photo session the guests are invited to have a pre-arranged welcome drink in the beautiful garden.
At Makiti we understand how precious your wedding day is. How, everything from the setting to the service and the food, needs to be faultless and how each wedding or function needs to be approached as being entirely unique. Our main aim is to be involved with as much as possible, in order to relieve you from the stress normally related with organizing your big day. We use all our experience to your advantage.
Our venues are equipped with their own PA systems. We have our own experienced DJ’s with whom our clients discuss their music requirements. Our Wedding planner will assist you in the planning of your wedding day and will discuss every little detail of your special day with you. Our experienced Coordinators will make sure that everything on your wedding day is taken care of and will make sure that your wedding day will be perfect. We have an in-house florist, with whom you may discuss all your flower requirements. You may use your own florist as well.
One of the things that we do get a lot of compliments on is our food. This is one of the first things that
your guests will talk about and remember. The contents of our menus and the style of presenting can be designed around different likes, traditions and nationalities. We have very high standards and use only the best quality products. We have a big variety of menus to choose from. Our starters are plated and served to the guest tables, and the main course is served in our inter-linked buffet area, or should the couple prefer, we can serve a plated menu.
We also do conferences, Matric farewells, small and intimate weddings and functions, celebrations, birthday parties, breakfast weddings, and many more.
The Ballroom Wedding Venue
was built in 1996. One of our most appreciated promises has always been the exclusivity that our clients have to their venue. On walking into the airy thatched function room, you are swept away by the ambience created by dimmed chandeliers and soft voile drapes.
The fairy lights behind the main table and on the beams create a romantic fairy tale atmosphere. The hall becomes one with the enchanting gardens when the big glass doors are opened. The venue seats from 60 up to 400 guests if the verandah is incorporated.
We have a well designed bar in the venue that is fully licensed and operated as per our client’s instructions. When the sound engineers installed our sound system they considered the fact that you have different age groups attending the wedding and concentrated our sound on the dance floor to allow guests at the back of the hall to socialize in peace. Our DJ’s are very experienced and will discuss the music requirements with the bride and groom. There is also a heavy duty Generator in case of power failures.
Sunset Wedding Venue
was built in 2003. The Sunset venue has a more modern look. Big chandeliers hanging from the roof makes an absolute statement in the chapel, foyer and spacious function room. The foyer connects the function room with the chapel.
The drapes in the high roof soften the roof and the venue has a spacious feel to it. There are beautifully draped fairy lights behind the main table that makes the main table the focus point.
The venue can seat maximum of 280 guests without incorporating the verandah area. The beautifully designed sleeper wood bar and doors enhances to the modern picture of the beautiful venue. The fire places are lit during the winter time and a warm and romantic feel is created.
The venue is fully air conditioned. The venue is also exclusive with own honeymoon suite, chapel, function room, beautifully landscaped garden and private parking area as well as a heavy duty Generator in case of load shedding or power failures.
Ennyani Venue
Perfectly suited for functions, conferences, birthday celebrations, corporate annual year end functions, business lunches, private groups or tours or for those Brides and Grooms looking for a smaller more intimate wedding venue.
The Ennyani venue can seat up to 60 guests with a well designed bar in the venue that is fully licensed and operated as per our client’s instructions.
For weddings we have a built on chapel and honeymoon suite, available to the brides where they can prepare themselves for that special day. The chapel can also seat up to 60 guests comfortably.
The Ennyani gardens featuring ponds and water fountains which compliments the green grass and colourful flowers, while the massive trees welcome anyone and everyone, making them feel like they are in a fairytale with majestic cliffs that form the backdrop of our breathtaking garden. This enchantment is not lost at night, as the entire valley is lit up, creating a fairyland of lights.
