Makiti has 13 thatched chalets for guests to stay over after your wedding or function.  A Chalet consists of a room with 2 single beds, an attached open-plan sitting room and an en-suite bathroom. There is a double bed “sleeper couch” in the attached, open-plan sitting room which can sleep two more guests if needed. Please note that sleeper couches aren’t the most comfortable and we would strongly advise you not to use these for older or overweight guests.

Book-in time is at 14h00 the day of the function, and Check-out time is at 10h00 the next morning. Bookings are on a “first come first service” basis only. Bookings are only confirmed once payment has been received.

Please note that we can not make any early check-in arrangements. Makiti’s Lodge is purely an overnight service to guests attending functions. We do not have a Tea garden or a Pub on site – our responsibility lies with our brides/clients and the success of their weddings/function. If we had a pub with a “Big screen TV”, it would surely be great fun, but we would also have a problem getting all the “Boys” to the church service if there is a major Rugby match on TV!!!

Also note that due to the fact that the use of the lodge is exclusive to the 2 weddings/functions held at Makiti on a particular night, we are not able to assist with accommodation for the night before the wedding/function or for guests wanting to stay for the entire weekend. Guests requiring these services are welcome to phone our office for a list of recommended “Guest Houses” and Lodges in our area.

Also note that to ensure that fellow guests have a good nights rest, no music is allowed to be played after 01h00. Makiti is situated in the “World Heritage Site” and falls under the rules of the organization. It is not allowed to make any noise, music after 01h00 in the morning. Should we have neighbouring farms it will lead to Makiti losing our music licence. To stress the importance of such a complaint, the client’s full deposit will be kept if any complaint is filed.

Please note that the client will also be responsible for the actions of his/her guests that are staying in the lodge.

Makiti will not be held liable for any loss or injury inflicted to clients or their guests.
